The Cisco AS5x00 Platform

The Cisco AS5x00 access servers are designed to terminate ISDN and analog dial-up connections.
These systems differ substantially from other router platforms in the central site. The primary
benefit of these systems is that the routing, switching, channel services, and modems are
all integrated into a single chassis, which reduces the number of external connections and space
requirements in the rack. These devices can terminate hundreds of connections.
