XTAGs
An
XTAG
is a unique identifier that MLS switches use to keep track of the MLS routers in the network.
All the MAC addresses and VLANs in use on the MLS-RP are associated with the XTAG
value in the CAM table.
The following output is from a Catalyst 6509 with an MSFC and PFC. The
show mls

was issued to provide the output:
