The rest of the chapters in this book cover technologies and processes to secure the corporate network. Some are pretty simple, while others are more elaborate. The remainder of this chapter covers some basic techniques that should be a part of any basic router or switch configuration, regardless of its role or placement within the network. Many of these might be familiar to you from your earlier certifications. While this list of tasks is by no means exhaustive, it does represent the types of details that must be covered to make sure our networks are secure.
