HotSync

HotSync operations are wonderful for keeping your PDA up-to-date, but
they also leave all the information on your device open to attack. Most
sync operations can now occur through either a standard Ethernetenabled
docking cradle or a wireless network connection. The problem
with these types of sync operations is that the computer never asks you
for any authentication information. Unfortunately, this means that anyone
can gain physical access or wireless network access to your mobile
device. Without any means of authentication, all the information on
your device is left completely vulnerable to anyone interested in getting
your confidential contact information.
