Key Reuse

May 12,2010 by alperen

Key reuse constitutes a problem because keys can be compromised and
used as a form of attack against your wireless system. These types of
attacks do require about 6 million packets in order to determine the
WEP key in a reasonably short amount of time. When stations all use
the same shared key, the chances of increasing IV collisions goes up significantly,
resulting in degrading the security of your network because
the WEP keys are not changed often enough. 209
