Scrambled Data

If a hacker can’t get in the front door by logging into an open wireless

network, he will try the back door—attempting to eavesdrop on your

wireless network traffic or unencrypted data stream in the hope that

your password or other vital information will be transmitted in clear

text across the WLAN.

WEP will not provide you with the privacy you expect from encrypting

your data. Hackers have found many of its vulnerabilities; therefore

you must plan proactively to scramble or encrypt your data using either

PKI or VPN mechanisms. In order to ensure that you maintain your privacy,

no connection should ever be made to your wireless network

unless you have the most sophisticated level of encryption possible.
