Wireless DoS Attack

If all else fails and a hacker simply wants to disrupt your wireless network,
he can create a wireless denial of service (DoS) attack that renders
your entire wireless network unusable. This is accomplished by creating
a transmitter powerful enough to flood the 2.4-GHz band (the
frequency spectrum that 802.11 uses to make WLAN connections) with
interference. With sufficient power, this type of attack can render any
wireless network traffic null.
These types of attacks can take place from a car parked near your
office building, the rooftop of a neighboring building, or a sufficiently
powerful line-of-sight transmission from as far as a few miles away. The
problem is that if your offices use wireless networks over your entire

corporate premises, you could lose work and connectivity because someone
is trying to destroy your ability to do business effectively.
